(Scholarship)
The Chinese American Professionals Association (CAPA) is dedicated to fostering educational opportunities beyond high school for students of Chinese heritage in Southern California. CAPA Scholarships support high school seniors pursuing 4-year college education.
Applications are to be submitted to the CAPA scholarship committee in May 15 of the year prior to the academic year for which you are requesting support. All information submitted will be held in confidence and used solely for the purpose of scholarship administration.
Summary of Scholarship Requirements
Applicants must submit the application form and all supporting documents by May 15, 2024.
Eligible candidates must be a senior of Chinese heritage attending a Southern California high school.
The application form is in the fillable PDF format. You must print the application after you have completed it. You may also print the application and fill it out by hands.
Print or type your name and school on each page.
Print or type information on Pages 3-5, Personal Data and Scholastic Information Data. Do not substitute forms. Minimal additional supplemental information may be accepted.
Print or type your scholarship statement of purpose on a separate 8 ½ ” x 11” sheet of unlined white paper. The statement of purpose, no more than two pages long, be included in the application form and be original thoughts of the applicant, in the applicant’s own words, written by the applicant.
Provide two letters of recommendation written by those who are intimately familiar with candidate’s academic work, community services and/or leadership skills. Recommendations must be printed or typed and included with submission of the full application.
Attach n official copy of course transcript with high school attendance record.
Citizenship or permanent residence status is required. An applicant must submit a photocopy of birth certificate, passport, or permanent resident card.
Ensure completeness to avoid elimination..
Successful applicants will be required to attend the recognition luncheon and communicate at least monthly to assigned CAPA Mentors throughout the period that a scholarship is granted.
The CAPA Scholarship Committee may request a personal interview to determine the most qualified candidate.
It is suggested that you have your application reviewed by your guidance counselor or another sponsor to insure completeness and accuracy.
Submit your completed applications no later than May 15th, 2024 to the address specified as below. Applications must be postmarked on or before May 15th to be accepted. Please do not staple your application.
